*Reverse chronological order. The sun disappeared :(
Yesterday was hot. I cloistered myself in the office at home all day, wilting with the heat from the computers, until after dinner I gave in. With the promise of ice cream, I got Eric to go for a drive with me down to Beacon Hill Park. The sun was perfectly low and golden and the temperature was finally perfect. I think a peaceful hour by the ocean is just what we needed. Though I will say I am paying today for running through the tall grass – I can’t seem to stop sneezing. I think it was worth it though.
So, it’s been way longer than I thought it had been. Oops! I haven’t had a proper day out in a while, but here’s a little of what I’ve been up to:
The last one also shows that we just rewatched the Lord of the Rings movies (Regular, not extended cut. That will be another weekend, I think.) I definitely <3 those films. Not just because they still look awesome ten years later, but for me, it’s impressive for what went on behind the scenes. The army of crew and extras. It’s truly an epic set of movies.
Okay! Soon I will have a -related- bunch of pictures. Happy Tuesday!
Today I was shown a small but awesome sea glass beach in Sidney. I think I’m addicted. No pictures of that, because I was busy filling up my ice cream bucket with pieces of awesome :D But we also stopped off at Island View Beach to explore a bit, and drove all the way to the top of ” The Centre of the Universe” where you have an amazing view all the way around. Oh, and lunch at an awesome place called Bad Betty’s. Much better than staying at home, eh? Now, all this beach walking has me tired, so BED.
We had wind gusts up to 50 km/hr yesterday, which made for some awesome waves. Sometimes sneaky waves that catch you off guard if you don’t see them coming. Brrr. Bailey and I managed to stay pretty dry and keep our cameras safe. Eric went down the stairs and got splashed, and he and Braden walked out on the breakwater. Good thing his coat is water repellant! At one of the beaches, the wind was so strong that Bailey and I had to lean forward a bit as we took pictures. It wasn’t quite strong enough to blow us away, but it was definitely enough to make us lose our balance. Our fingers got stiff, but it was totally worth it. Kind of exhilarating :)
A couple shots of the back down from Kamloops
And a few from today…
The different layers of clouds make me happy. Not really composed great, but I was practicing sky shots. Got distracted by pigeons for a moment (all huddled around the warm air vent), but I spent a lot of time looking up :) Plus 2 pics from the fraser canyon.
