vancouver

Woo Vancouver!

Well, Stanley Park, really. We couldn’t have asked for a ncer day to walk around. I didn’t need my coat all day. It was glorious! I made the trip up for Bailey’s birthday, and it was definitely worth not sleeping much. (ha) We spent hours roaming the park, and eating deliciously greasy fried food from the concession stand. Fish and chips ftw!
There was a stream that had interesting bubble arches forming where water was falling, and a neat curved tree with water reflecting the light back up. We met a tourist from Scotland, and told him to go to Stuart’s Bakery at Granville Island.  (You should go there too.)  We planned adventures and photo ideas, too. (We need to make a day of it this summer.)

It’s hard to believe that this is March. It only gets warmer from here.

Quickie Vancouver Trip

Considering I have a pretty bad cold, going to Vancouver was probably not the best idea for my health. But it was to see @PirateBee  and Chelsy. We haven’t all hung out together in ages, so even though I felt horrible (and probably sounded worse!) I went. I learned that knitting while on cold meds is possible, but it really messes up my gauge (one fingerless mitt is slightly larger than the other), and Stanley Park is gorgeous in the fall. There were some very fearless raccoons living under the deck by the mini train. They’re cute until they try to eat your face or something. The visit was too short, and next time we’ll definitely have to plan better to hit all of the store we would like, but that’s okay. This weekend was needed. Aaand I paid for it with a wicked nap this afternoon. Best. Nap. Ever.

BC Day long weekend, and Vancouver Pride

The bike wouldn’t start, so they were left behind to push!

And she’s going to walk a whole parade in those boots?!

The flute guy was really into the music :)

These guys were singing “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”

With those heels, I”m not surprised he was holding on!

The WestJet people were really happy :D

Mostly I just love her t-shirt

Impressive set of… wings? Must’ve been heavy.

The Global morning news people were there too :)

I got to visit Bailey, which was pretty darn awesome. I braved a ferry, a bus, and a skytrain, but it was a pretty smooth trip. This morning’s ferry ride back to the island was beautiful and sunny.

All in all, a great BC Long weekend :)
