I drove back yesterday after an extended visit with family. I was originally going to leave there and go to Vancouver on Friday, but Snowmageddon kept me there all weekend, waiting for safe roads and no blowing snow. Oh well. Yesterday was perfect driving weather, except for the cold (-17 when I left), with clear blue skies most of the way. I’m glad I waited a few days, especially after seeing so many cars off the road in the Fraser Valley.

While there (and pre-snowstorm), I had a photo day with Dad. We shot Warren for a while, then once naptime hit we went out in search of landscapes. It was quite hazy in town, but over the hill in Rose Hill the sky was clear. Beautiful!

And now today is full of flurries, only this time I can enjoy them without thinking about driving through mountains. My garden is buried under several inches of white and seems quite minimalist. It’s coming down almost frantically, heavy and wet. With the wind it’s blowing around so much it sneaks into your coat (brrr), but it’s pretty and I am home so I don’t think I care.
