Five Years by Corbett Barr

There will be an agreement in whatever variety of actions, so they be each honest and natural in their hour. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

What would you say to the person you were five years ago? What will you say to the person you’ll be in five years?

(Author: Corbett Barr)

To the Mel of 5 years ago… It. Will. Get. Better.

Things suck, I know. You aren’t where you thought you would be. You’re about to make a lot of mistakes, but really awesome things will come of it. You’ll meet some great people. Sure, you’re gonna go through some shit like Bell’s Palsy. And a car accident. And a Huge Fucking Breakdown. But you’ll be okay. One of those guys you met at that party? Turns out he rocks and will be the best partner in crime you could ask for. Just remember when things get really crappy and you’re not sure if you will get up in the morning, everything will be okay. The sun comes up (You end up seeing a lot of sun rises, btw. Totally awesome) and things go on. And even when it’s hard, it’s worth it.

To Future me…

Hey, you’re alive! Woo! Go you! I don’t want to know what happens yet, so I’m just going to say “You’re welcome” for everything I’m about to do ^.^

The End.
