Image? What image?

You might notice there are a few broken images in recent posts. My server had a hiccup, and I need to re-upload everything after September. Oops!

Bear with me while I get things sorted.

summers end

August sunsets are warm and golden, and worth traipsing through the itchy grass for a shot.

July 6 Downtown

There is so much textural contrast in downtown Victoria. I kinda love it.

Hello, April

Today has been beautiful. I started with the perfect playlist this morning, and work went well. I decided that allergies be damned, it was too nice to be inside and went to the beach. The wind was cold around the bluff, but this area was protected and the sun was warm. Perfect for a short on-paper planning session. It’s amazing how a sunny day can completely boost your mood. Hopefully, today is enough to get me through what looks to be an overcast week. Boo.

Sometimes I can’t decide whether I love December or hate the stress that it holds. I am enjoying making gifts for people though. Those projects are islands of happy in between the usual worry. I can’t wait to mail them off to their new homes <3 The most frustrating part is not being able to show them off yet (Arg). Only a few more weeks till I can post some photos!

Technical Difficulties

So one of my plugins seems to be going rogue. I have to re-save my permalinks structure constantly otherwise my about and contact pages can’t be accessed. So wonderful. I keep putting the digital equivilant of a band-aid on it, but it’s now time get in there and figure this out. This whole week has been full of broken tech and misbehaving programs. (Software, server, plugins, oh my!) I just hope that next week is a little better.

Lemon Dill Prawn Pasta

So I’m on a break from school, and it turns out that when I’m not crazy stressed, I have the creative energy to make delicious dinners! This is not so much a solid recipe, as a general guideline.

  • Prawns
  • Pasta
  • Dill
  • Lemon
  • Green Onion
  • Garlic
  • Kale/Spinach
  • Olive Oil
  • Spices

Cook pasta, thaw prawns, while also warming the rest in a pan. Cut the lemon thin, add a little zest, and a bit of the juice. Add spices of your choice. I went with a pinch of thyme, rosemary, basil, oregano, salt & pepper, ground up in my hands.  Add prawns and cook. Throw in pasta and mix up! This was the perfect warm day dinner. Yum.
